Join us for an unforgettable 5-hour scenic whale-watching tour along the breathtaking coastline of Dirk Hartog Island and the serene, protected waters of Shark Bay. As you cruise through these pristine waters, you’ll have the rare opportunity to witness the majestic humpback whales during their annual migration along the West Coast. These gentle giants journey thousands of kilometres from the cold waters of Antarctica to the warm waters of the tropics. On their journey they take refuge in sheltered waters of Shark Bay, where they rest and nurture their calves. Our knowledgeable guides will share fascinating insights into the whales’ behavior, migration patterns, and the importance of Shark Bay as a critical habitat for these incredible creatures.
While our main focus is on spotting humpback whales, the waters of Shark Bay are teeming with diverse marine life. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, dugongs, sea turtles, and a variety of seabirds as we explore this vibrant ecosystem. Please note that while we strive to provide the best possible whale-watching experience, sightings of humpback whales cannot be guaranteed as they are wild animals. Rest assured, our experienced crew will do everything possible to locate and observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
After getting your fix of the Shark Bay wildlife, we’ll make our way back to Denham and while you sit back and reflect on the incredible whale encounters you’ve just had you can enjoy a beautiful sunset on the water. Its important to note the sunset will not be with the whales due to the distance we have to travel to find them and in order to get back at a reasonable time!
This tour is only available during the humpback whale migration in August and October. This is when we see the largest number of whales.

What do you need to bring? – A jacket/warm clothes, sunglasses, hats and a camera!
The itinerary for our scenic whale watching tour is simple. You’ll board one of our vessels roughly 5 hours before sunset (the exact time will be confirmed in your booking email) and we’ll head out towards Dirk Hartog Island. Once we get closer we’ll scan the oceans looking for signs of whales. We’ll slowly cruise north looking for humpbacks and other marine life. Once we’ve seen our share of whales we’ll make our way back to Denham. On the edge of town we’ll ease off and watch the sunset reflecting on the whale interactions we’ve just had! We aim to be back on the jetty 10-15 minutes after sunset.

If the weather deems the tour unsafe or we do not meet minimum numbers, you will be contacted prior to your tour leaving. We do our best to find another date that works for you, but if not you are entitled to a full refund.
The selected diving and snorkeling spots will be determined by our experienced skippers and PADI professional dive/snorkel guides, taking into account weather conditions and the ability of those on board.
